Dr. Ralf Moritz übernimmt Verantwortung als Mitgesellschafter

Mai 2025   Die Blend+ GmbH erweitert ihr Werk in Düren und investiert in neue Produktionsanlagen, um der steigenden Nachfrage nach innovativen Kunststoffadditiv-Mischungen gerecht zu werden. Gleichzeitig stärkt das Unternehmen seine Führungsstruktur: Dr. Ralf Moritz, seit 2021 im Unternehmen und Geschäftsführer seit 2023, ist nun auch Gesellschafter. Mit technologischem Know-how und unternehmerischer Weitsicht setzt Blend+ damit ein klares Zeichen für weiteres Wachstum.

Blend+, gegründet im Jahr 2015, verzeichnet seit Jahren kontinuierlich steigende Auftragseingänge für kundenspezifische Produkte und Dienstleistungen. Die Additive, die Blend+ verarbeitet, bestehen zum Beispiel aus Thermostabilisatoren, Säurefängern, Clarifiern, Antislip-, Antifog- oder Flammschutzmitteln. Aufgrund des anhaltenden Erfolgs vergrößert das Unternehmen nun die Kapazität des Dürener Werkes. Damit reagiert Blend+ auf die wachsenden Anforderungen des Marktes und schafft zugleich die Grundlage für weiteres Wachstum.

Hierfür sind neue Produktionsanlagen in Bau und gehen in Kürze in Betrieb. Prozesstechnisch ist dabei sowohl die Herstellung von marktüblichen Additiv-Kompakten in Form von Granulat möglich, als auch die Entwicklung neuer Produktformen in großtechnischem Maßstab.

Erweiterter Gesellschafterkreis

Kürzlich hat Dr. Ralf Moritz, der neben Hans Houben Geschäftsführer ist, auch Gesellschaftsanteile erworben und übernimmt somit noch mehr Verantwortung für die langfristige Ausrichtung des Unternehmens.

Dr. Moritz wurde am Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung in Mainz promoviert und verfügt über einen MBA mit Schwerpunkt Digital Transformation Management von der Goethe Business School in Frankfurt. Praktische Erfahrung sammelte er bei der Unternehmensberatung KPMG, sowie anschließend als Sales Manager beim japanischen Chemiekonzern Adeka.

Hans Houben, einer der beiden Gründer von Blend+, ist weiterhin Geschäftsführer und Gesellschafter und begleitet das Unternehmen weiterhin aktiv als Projektmanager bei Investitionsvorhaben: „Entgegen dem momentanen Trend wachsen wir beständig. Mit Ralf Moritz haben wir einen in der Branche anerkannten Fachmann an Bord, der kundenzentriert agiert und einen ausgeprägten Sinn für die langfristige Entwicklung unseres Unternehmens mitbringt.“ Komplettiert wird das Führungsteam durch Joachim Bayer – Gründer, Gesellschafter, Prokurist und Vertriebsleiter der Blend+ GmbH – der mit seiner fachspezifischen Expertise im Bereich Kunststoff-Stabilisierung das Wachstum der Blend+ prägt. Bayer sammelte Erfahrung in unterschiedlichen technischen und kommerziellen Managementpositionen bei internationalen Großkonzernen in der Kunststoffindustrie.

Über Blend+

Hans Houben und Joachim Bayer haben Blend+ im Jahr 2015 gegründet. Die Idee, der sie bis heute folgen, war es, als unabhängiger Hersteller kundenspezifische Blend-Spezialitäten mit moderner Technologie und effizienter Produktion zu attraktiven Preisen anzubieten.

Außerdem wollten sie sich von Lohnmischern dadurch unterscheiden, dass sie mit den Kunden gemeinsam Formulierungen entwickeln – ein Rezept, das sich bis heute als erfolgreich erwiesen hat.

Mit dem modernen Maschinenpark und präziser Prozesssteuerung zählt das Unternehmen zu den wenigen Herstellern, die auch schwer zu verarbeitende und schwer förderbare Additive präzise und reproduzierbar mischen und granulieren.

Düren, Germany, 5 May 2025   Blend+ GmbH is expanding its facilities in Düren and investing in new production plants to be able to comply with its customers’ growing demand for innovative plastic additive blends. This coincides with a strengthening of the company’s management team: Dr. Ralf Moritz, who joined the company in 2021 and has been Managing Director since 2023, is now also a shareholder of the company. Building on strong technological expertise and entrepreneurial farsightedness, Blend+ has thus set the course for further growth.

Blend+ was founded in 2015. The company’s orders, particularly those for customized products and services, have been on a continuous rise for many years. Blend+ produces blends from a wide range of additives, including thermostabilizers, acid scavengers, clarifiers, anti-slipping and anti-fogging agents, and flame retardants. On account of its sustainable success, the company decided to expand the production capacity at its headquarters in Düren. With this investment, Blend+ is responding to the increasing requirements of the market and forming the basis for further growth.

New equipment for the capacity expansion is already being installed and will be commissioned shortly. It includes technology for both the production of standard compacted additives in granular form and the development of new product forms at industrial scale.

Enlarged circle of shareholders

Dr. Ralf Moritz, the second Managing Director alongside Hans Houben, now also owns shares in the company, taking over additional responsibility for the long-term strategy of the company.

Dr. Moritz earned a doctoral degree at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany, and holds an MBA in Digital Transformation Management from Frankfurt-based Goethe Business School. He gained practical experience at the business consultancy firm KPMG and, subsequently, as sales manager at the Japanese chemical group Adeka.

Hans Houben, one of the two founders of Blend+, will continue to be Managing Director and shareholder of the company and actively accompany Blend+ as project manager in future investments: “Contrary to the current trend, we have been growing continuously. With Ralf Moritz, we have a highly acknowledged expert on board who acts with a strong customer focus and has a clear view of the long-term development of our company.” Joachim Bayer – founder, shareholder, authorized signatory, and sales director – completes the management team of Blend+. With his technical expertise in plastics stabilization, he has played a key role in the success of Blend+. Joachim Bayer gained experience in various technical and commercial management positions at international corporations in the plastics industry.
